After visiting Siena for the first time in the early 80s, I came back to this wonderful medieval town for the second time in 2017 due to an invitation to a photographic event.
Friendly people and a variety of historic buildings make this location worth a visit.
Siena, like other Tuscan hill towns, was first settled in the time of the Etruscans (c. 900–400 BC), when it was inhabited by a tribe called the Saina.
Meanwhile, the historic centre of Siena has been declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. It is one of the nation’s most visited tourist attractions.
During the visit I took a lot of photographs, of which the ones shown here should convey the atmosphere of this place.
