Hans-Martin Dölz was born in 1949 in Lüdenscheid, Germany.
He studied Mathematics and Business Administration at the Universities of Bochum and Göttingen and graduated in 1979 with a master’s degree in Business Administration.
After retiring from his job he found interest in art. His first works were graphic images, partly created by using self-written algorithms and imaging software. He was fascinated by colors, lines and shapes.
This soon led him to photography.
Several of his architectural photos, mostly those with human presence which is an important issue for him, were already awarded in international photo contests.
In October 2017 his photo “book temple III” was chosen by the Jury Board as the winner of the category “Architecture & Urban Spaces” in the prestigious Siena International Photo Awards (SIPA) 2017 and was honored with the esteemed Pangea Prize, a precious Crystal Ball Trophy.
In 2020 the distinction Excellence FIAP (EFIAP) has been awarded to him by the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (FIAP).
In 2021 he has been appointed Head of the 1X ambassador team which comes from countries such as Abu Dhabi, Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Dominica, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Thailand, Turkey, UK and USA.
Hans-Martin Dölz wurde 1949 in Lüdenscheid geboren.
Er studierte Mathematik und Betriebswirtschaftslehre an den Universitäten Bochum und Göttingen und schloss das Studium 1979 als Diplom-Kaufmann ab.
Nach seinem Berufsleben fand er zunehmend Interesse an Kunst. Seine ersten Arbeiten waren graphische Bilder, zum Teil erzeugt durch Verwendung selbstgeschriebener Algorithmen oder geeigneter Bildbearbeitungsprogramme. Besonders interessierten ihn dabei die Erzeugung von Linien, Formen und Farben.
Dies führte ihn bald zur Fotografie.
Einige seiner Architektur-Fotos, besonders jene mit menschlicher Präsenz, wurden bereits bei internationalen Fotografie-Wettbewerben ausgezeichnet.
Im Oktober 2017 wurde sein Foto “book temple III” bei den Siena International Photo Awards (SIPA) 2017 als Gewinner der Kategorie “Architektur und urbane Räume” von der Jury ausgewählt und mit dem sehr geschätzten Pangea-Preis ausgezeichnet.
Wesentliche Auszeichnungen und Veröffentlichungen sind in der chronologisch geordneten Aufstellung “publications, exhibitions, awards” dargestellt.

Mein Name ist Annegret Kettling; geb. Schulte. Meine Eltern hatten ein Cafè in der Thuenenstraße.
Ich lebe nun seit 15 Jahren in Canada. Ende April 2016 bin ich in Luedenscheid. Ich freue mich auf ein Wiedersehen mit Klassenkameraden, die ich 53 oder sogar 57 Jahre nicht getroffen habe.
Ist doch faszinierend, was aus uns allen so geworden ist.

1949 and living in Marseille wth a Japanese companion and a 9 year old daughter. I would like to meet you some day and communicate with you. My website needs to be more professional ! I like your work, in 1968 my first photographs published by a poster company in London was a couple of slide sandwiches with English dummies and I shot photographs of dummies and real woman on Kings Road, questioning who is trying to be like the other ( never published) . This summer I am doing a Tour de France I am sure to win, being the only participant ! I wish you a great summer ! Amicalement, Francisco
